I
have been asked to participate in a research study about the
important aspects of an undergraduate student organization in
agricultural science. I was selected to be a possible participant
because I have insight into what such an organization should look
like. A total of 12 people have been asked to participate in this
study. The purpose of this study is to identify the important
aspects that should be included in an undergraduate student
organization for AGSC students.
If
I agree to be in this study, I will be asked to participate in a
focus group. This study will only take about one hour. There are
no risks associated with this study. Benefits of participation
include improving the AGSC program opportunities for future
students. I will receive no compensation for participation.
This
study is confidential. The records of this study will be kept
private. No identifiers linking me to the study will be included
in any sort of report that might be published. I understand that
the focus group will be audio taped and then transcribed. The
tapes will be erased within one year of the focus group. Research
records, including audio tapes, will be stored securely and only
Dr. Grady Roberts, Dr. Julie Harlin, and their research associates
will have access to the records. My decision whether of not to
participate will not affect my current or future relations with
Texas A&M University. If I decide to participate, I am free to
refuse to answer any of the questions that may make me
uncomfortable. I can withdraw at any time with out my relations
with the university, job, benefits, etc., being affected. I can
contact Dr. Grady Roberts, 979-862-3707, groberts@tamu.edu
with any questions about this study.
