Certification Information

Thank you for your interest in becoming a cooperating teacher!  The following criteria are used for selection of cooperating teachers each semester:
  • Genuine interest in working with a student teacher
  • Three or more years experience as a successful AGSC teacher
  • Submitted the Cooperating Teacher Application to the Department

Student teachers are placed each semester and are "matched" to appropriate programs based on courses taught, program attributes, and teacher/student personality characteristics.

For more information on the requirements associated with being a cooperating teacher, please refer to the Cooperating Teacher Handbook.  For questions or comments, contact Dr. Julie Harlin at j-harlin@tamu.edu or call 979-458-1021.
