Application Procedures
When you apply to a graduate program, you first apply to Texas A&M University with the Office of Graduate Admissions and Records, College Station, Texas 77843-0100. You can apply using the State of Texas Common application form and degree code at http://admissions.tamu.edu/graduate/. If you did not receive your degree from Texas A&M University, you must request that official transcripts for all undergraduate and graduate courses taken at other universities be sent to the Office of Graduate Admissions. Graduate Record Examination scores can be designated at the time of testing to be sent to Texas A&M University. The Office of Graduate Admissions will enter only official scores from the testing center. These scores are kept for only 5 years. Our department will accept unofficial GRE scores if the applicant can provide a copy of the official scores.

A graduate applicant must have a major advisor to be admitted. It is imperative for you to “meet” with faculty in your interest area so that a major advisor can recommend you for admission to the program (For a list of faculty members, see the Graduate Faculty list ). Action for departmental admission cannot be taken until all materials required have been received by the Office of Graduate Admissions and this department.
