Distinguished Achievement
The Association of Former Students Distinguished Teaching Award-College
Level will be presented on October 6th at the COALS Faculty Meeting to Dr. Tracy
Rutherford.
This award is presented to professors to recognize, encourage and reward the superior
classroom teacher. The recipients are in command of their respective discipline,
teaching methodologies, pervasive caring, communication skills, and commitment to
the learning process. Recipients exemplify the meaning of teacher/mentor in
its highest sense. This award is designed to distinguish those teachers who maintain
high expectations of their students and who insure academic rigor in their courses.
Distinguished teachers recognize their responsibility in motivating and contributing
to the overall development of the student.
Congratulations to Dr. Rutherford
