Co-enrolling

Students may be enrolled at Blinn College at the same time they are enrolled at Texas A&M (called co-enrolling) or they may choose to take summer courses at Blinn or other community colleges. To determine which courses will transfer to Texas A&M, students should use the Texas Common Course Numbering System (TCCNS). TCCNS was designed to aid students in the transfer of general academic courses between colleges throughout Texas. Common Courses are freshman and sophomore academic credit courses that have been identified as common by institutions that are members of TCCNS. The system ensures that if the student takes courses that the receiving institution has designated as common, then the courses will be accepted in transfer and the credit will be treated as if the courses had actually been taken on the receiving institution's campus. The TCCNS may be found in the back of the Texas A&M University undergraduate catalog or on the TCCNS Page.

Correspondence Courses

Students frequently take courses by correspondence (EX: ENGL 210 – Technical Writing). Correspondence courses typically transfer to A&M if they are on the TCCNS list. However, students should be warned that taking a course by correspondence during their final semester at Texas A&M may result in a delay in receiving their diploma. Universities and colleges offering correspondence courses usually service a large number of students and are notorious for not having students’ grades transferred to Texas A&M in time for the student to receive their diploma on the day that they graduate. Correspondence courses should never be taken during the student’s final semester.
