Reasons to Meet with Your Advisor
The following are some good reasons to meet with your academic advisor:
  • To get to know your advisor and for them to get to know you. Advisors can be a tremendous help and smooth the path to graduation.
  • To seek advice about electives on your degree plan.
  • To complete community college substitutions on your degree plan.
  • If you are having difficulty in a class.
  • If you are having personal problems that are interfering with your studies.
  • If you have had one bad semester where you failed several classes. You may not be on academic probation yet (GPR < 2.0), but the advisor may help halt the slide.
  • If you are on academic probation (GPR < 2.0). The advisor may give you advice on how to meet the terms of your probation.
